Marcela was born in British Columbia, Canada, and grew up in Guatemala. Her style integrates her Latin American roots with her life in the mountains and forests of Canada. She now lives with her family in Ontario, Canada.
The name "Marcela's Brain Juice" is a reference to Marcela's creative juices.
